2016 USC Trojans Football Tickets
It’s been an interesting time under for USC ticket holders under Head Coach Clay Helton, who somehow seemed to hang around long enough to get noticed and take over the USC football program. Now firmly entrenched, Helton enters his first full season with a team that belongs to him. That team could easily end up winning the PAC 12 and more. There will be some tough games, including Alabama in the opener, but if USC wants to re-establish themselves a premier college football team, THE premiere college football team, they’ll have to beat good teams along the way.
Tee Martin has taken over the playcalling for Helton, and he’ll do it in 2016 without Cody Kessler. Heading into 2016, Martin will have to choose between Max Browne and Sam Darnold. Browne is well versed in the system and more experienced, operating well within the passing system. The problem is, San Darnold may offer a more impressive set of physical tools, being capable of passing and a formidable threat to take off and run when the heat gets to be too mush. There’s plenty of other talent on offense no matter who gets the nod. The line is big and strong. Wideout Juju Smith-Schuster provides an NFL caliber receiving threat and the tandem of Ronal Jones II and Justin Davis are a formidable combination when the Trojans run the ball.
Defensively, USC will have to work through some problems along the defensive line, having lost key players to the pros and bad decisions.
Defensive Coordinator Clancy Pendergrast like to run a hybrid defense, using linebackers to rush from the edges. The scheme was good enough to give the Trojans a ranked defense in his previous stint. It will be interesting to see how he adapts to cover for his defensive line troubles.
