2016 Tennessee Volunteers Football Tickets

Butch Jones took over at Tennessee three years ago, promising improvement in the program. At 21-17 over that span, Jones is steadily making the Volunteers better, posting a 9-4 record last season. That improvement, coupled with a now tested and experienced roster, makes Volunteers tickets a certified contender in the SEC East. It’s up to Tennessee to turn expectation onto reality.

The Volunteers achieved a remarkable feat for 2016, finding eighteen veteran players ready to re-commit to Tennessee football. The top name here is probably senior quarterback Joshua Dobbs, who returns after tossing for 15 touchdowns and 2,291 yards, while gaining 671 on the ground and adding 11 rushing touchdowns. His leadership is a key reason the Vols are expected to win the SEC East. Dobbs can depend on a strong running game with junior Jalen Hurd and a reliable group of receivers in Josh Smith and Josh Malone. Supported by a strong offensive line, the Volunteers offense should be more productive in 2016.

If the Tennessee Volunteers want to have a run at beating Alabama (they came close in 2015, losing 19-14) the defense will have to carry the load, and it’s a good one. Line backer Jalen Reeves-Maybin leads a long list of talented starters. Revves-Maybin is rated as a sure NFL talent and will call the plays on the field from his middle linebacker position. On the line, Derek Barnett returns from a 10-sack season. If the offense and defense are in sync, it’s the special teams talent that can make the difference for Volunteers ticket holders. Remarkably, Tennessee can boast of having both the top punt returner in Cameron Sutton, and the top kickoff return man in Evan Berry. If that happens again, the Volunteers work a short field, giving them a huge advantage over opponents.

2016 Tennessee Volunteers Football Schedule
Volunteers fans who want a special treat should line up now for tickets to the contest with Virginia tech, taking place on Sept. 10th at Bristol Motor Speedway. Hopes are high for setting an attendance record in Bristol. The season opens in Neyland Stadium with Appalachian State the week prior, and afterwards Ohio comes to visit, followed by a huge game with Florida. Tennessee must travel the next two weeks to take on Georgia and Texas A&M before returning to Neyland to face the biggest challenge of the season, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Tickets buyers will also see South Carolina, Tennessee Tech, Kentucky, Missouri, and finally Vanderbilt on the road.
