Oklahoma Sooners Football Tickets
Are the Oklahoma Sooners back? Will Sooners tickets once again dominate the college football landscape? Don’t be surprised if they do. At the very least, the Oklahoma Sooners have served notice to the Big 12 that they intend to change things. After a miserable 2014, Oklahoma rolled to a Big 12 Championship, finished 11-1 and went on to face Clemson in the Orange Bowl, where they suffered a 37-17 loss. Disappointing maybe, but the seeds have planted for a rebirth of Oklahoma football supremacy in the Big 12. Bob Stoops and his troops just have to make it happen in the 2016 college football season.
The foundation is there. Returning quarterback Baker Mayfield had one of the best seasons in history for an Oklahoma quarterback, passing for ,700 yards. The transfer seems to have found a home in Oklahoma memorial Stadium and his second season at the helm of the Sooner offense bodes well for success. It’s not all on Mayfield though. The Sooners have always been a power team and running backs Joe Mixon and Sanaje Perine give them one of the most effective tandems in the country. With a strong running game, and Mayfield banking on wide receiver Mark Andrews to step up, the Oklahoma offense should be running at full speed. That’s enough to make Oklahoma football tickets prize packages.
It will be up to Defensive Coordinator Mike Stoops to keep up with the offense. After 10 years at the helm, it shouldn’t be a problem. Last season his defense held opponents to under four yards a carry and a little better than 200 yards a game passing. To beef up the pass rush, Stoops brought in a new line coach, Calvin Thibodeaux, an ex-Sooner familiar with the program.
Oklahoma Sooners Schedule
The Sooners schedule will make you drool for tickets. The slate features road games against TCU, Texas Tech, Iowa State, and West Virginia. At home is where Sooners tickets shine and the biggest games are in Oklahoma memorial Stadium. After opening with Houston and UL Monroe, the Sooner will welcome Ohio State, Texas, Kansas State, Kansas, and Baylor, before finishing with the annual matchup against Oklahoma State. Sounds like a good season and a good reason to be in Oklahoma Memorial with Sooners tickets.
