2016 North Carolina Tar Heels Football Tickets

Tarheels tickets appear to be on the rebound. After a dismal 6-7 season in 2014, North Carolina came back strong under Larry Fedora, racking up 11 wins and finishing with a good performance against Baylor in the Russell Athletic Bowl. The resurgence came with improved play at quarterback and vastly improved play on defense, where the Tarheels finished 12th in the nation against the pass, a good statistic in the pass happy ACC. 2016 will see some changes but hopes are high that Tarheels tickets will continue their winning ways.

There are enough returning starters of offense to expect North Carolina to once again hit their 40 point per game average of last season. Elijah Hood returns for his junior season after gaining 1,400 yards last season. With the majority of the offensive line back in the fold, North Carolina will be able to run the ball effectively against anyone. The Tarheels will have to replace Marquise Williams at quarterback. That job seems to fall squarely in the lap of Mitch Trubisky, who takes over in his junior year. Trubisky does have game experience, and when he’s been on the field, has performed well, completing better than 70% of his passes and amazingly enough, no interceptions. The sample size is small but t results have been good. If Trubisky can get the ball into the hands of returning starters Ryan Switzer and Mack Hollins, the offense will be fine.

Gene Chizik returns as defensive Coordinator after engineering the remarkable turnaround of 2015. Chizik somehow built an effective secondary and he gets most of that squad back for the upcoming season. There is serious work to be done against the run though, after the Tarheels gave up over 200 yards a game in 2015. There are no big names along the defensive line or linebackers so it becomes essential that role players such as Mikey Bart, the sole senior, provide leadership for s developing group of younger players.
