2016 Iowa Hawkeyes Football Tickets

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on a mission. After running out to 12-0, including wins over Iowa State and Wisconsin, the Hawkeyes suffered tough losses to end the season, falling 16-13 to Michigan State and 45-13 to Stanford in the Rose Bowl. It’s a bitter pill Hawkeyes ticket holders hopefully won’t have to swallow again in 2016 as Kirk Ferentz continues his path of progress in Iowa.

Ferentz is on a good run and has the bonus of long experience and a comfortable place at the Hawkeyes table for the last 17 years. He also has a good shot at winning the Big Ten in 2016. Iowa loves to run, and Ferentz will do it again, featuring LeShun Daniels as the primary running back, with healthy doses of the explosive Akrum Wadley mixed in. When they choose to pass, the Hawkeyes have senior quarterback C.J. Beathard, whose junior season reaped 17 touchdowns on the year. On the other end of his passes, leading receiver Matt Vandeberg returns after a 65-reception year. Vandeberg is the most experienced of a young crop of receivers and he’ll be leaned on heavily in 2016, along with promising tight end George Kittle.

The passing defense centers around cornerback Desmond King, who passed up a chance at the NFL to go after that Big Ten crown. Desmond pulled in eight picks in his junior year. In front of King is a very solid rushing defense, led by Josey Jewell at linebacker. The defensive line will have to be established in spring practices, but right now it looks like Matt Nelson and Sam Brincks on the ends, while Nathan Bazata and Jaleel Johnson man the middle.

2016 Iowa Hawkeyes Football Schedule
Kinnick Stadium is going to be rocking in 2016. Hawkeyes ticket holders will enjoy action against Miami (OH), Iowa State, North Dakota State, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nebraska. The road will be tougher, with Penn State and Minnesota looming, along with Rutgers, Purdue, and Illinois. For the Iowa it’s all about finishing strong and putting themselves in position to win the Big Ten. Look for the Hawkeyes to roll into the season with big dreams and high expectations.
