The Oklahoma State Cowboys were in contention for that BCS Championship Game up until a week 11 loss to Iowa sent the Cowboys down in the polls. It’s strange how one bad week can derail a whole season but that’s life in the world of college football. The Oklahoma Cowboys ran off 10 straight wins during the season, eclipsing three ranked teams in Texas A&M, Texas, and Kansas State before their unlikely loss. A win over #10 Oklahoma in their final game failed to give them enough push to make the cut for the BCS Championship game.
The Stanford Cardinal followed much the same script, reeling off nine straight wins while riding the arm of Andrew Luck. The quarterbacks shot at a Heismann Trophy kept Stanford in the national spotlight before a loss to #7 Oregon in Week 10 pretty much eliminated the Cardinal from BCS Championship contention. Still, the Cardinal are a very solid college football team and watching them take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys should give any college football fan enough offense to keep them happy all night.
