The West Virginia Mountaineers will score points, and plenty of them, in the 2012 College Football season.

Holy smokes! What’s going to happen with the offense of the West Virginia Mountaineers in 2012? The Mountaineers showed off just how good this offense can be when they ended their college football season with a 70-33 victory over Clemson in the Orange Bowl, setting the stage for the fireworks sure to come in 2012. Quarterback Geno Smith, who threw for a record six touchdowns in that game, is returning with a year of experience in the system under his belt. The Mountaineers will also have the talents of wide receivers Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey again, both of whom thrived in 2011 and should be even better in 2012.

Did we forget to mention that leading rusher Dustin Garrison is also coming back? Shame on us. But with all these pieces of the puzzle returning it would be impossible not to see the West Virginia Mountaineers as one of the most exciting teams in college football in 2012. Head Coach Dana Holgorsen is an offensive genius and his offense is sure to baffle more than one defensive coordinator.

If there’s a fly in this ointment it’s the uncertainty of the defensive side of the ball. The Mountaineers will lose some good players to graduation and possibly their defensive coordinator. Furthermore, the attempted move to the Big 12 could turn out to be a distraction. But there are far more positive things going on in West Virginia to let politics stand in the way of what’s going to be on offensive season of football for the Mountaineers.

The Georgia Bulldogs have their eyes set on the SEC East in 2012

The Georgia Bulldogs became a real threat to the rest of the SEC East in 2011 and the 2012 college football seasons looks like the one where they will finish the job. This is a team that went 10-4 last season and returns their top ranked defense almost complete in 2012.

After losing their first two the Georgia Bulldogs reeled off 10 straight wins, including victories over Mississippi State, Auburn, Kentucky, and Georgia Tech. though they stumbled against eventual BCS participant LSU and again in the Outback Bowl to end the season, it had to be a big confidence booster to play well against the big boys.

Besides the return of a very good defense the Georgia Bulldogs will also have an experienced and productive quarterback in Aaron Murray and a solid wide receiver in Malcolm Mitchell. There are some concerns in other areas of the team, such as finding the right mix along the offensive line, but overall the Bulldogs seem to be capable of even better things in 2012. An easy schedule won’t hurt either as Georgia avoids some of the big time competition from the West.

Now this one is kind of personal to me because I’ve got a friend who annually picks the Oklahoma Sooners to win the BCS National Championship because he once lived in Oklahoma. Never mind that he like New Orleans better and now lives in Atlanta, the Oklahoma Sooners are always the college football team of the century according to him. Let’s put that aside and take an impartial look at the Sooners football team in 2012.

The Oklahoma Sooners got off to a rough start last season but recovered nicely despite the fact that they lost more than one player considered essential to the cause. Dominique Whaley, one of those players, is back and will be a contender for a rushing title if he stays healthy. Meanwhile the Sooners can also rely on quarterback Landry Jones, a proven commodity, and are hoping some of the younger wide receivers develop along the way. All in all another solid Sooners team that should be factored in a College Football Top 10 list.

There's more to the Oregon Ducks than pretty cheerleaders. The Ducks will challenge for another PAC 10 Championship

The Oregon Ducks have become an established force in the West, winning the PAC 10 three years in a row. In 2012 they’ll face more of a challenge in USC but since the Trojans are still unproven and recovering from sanctions, the smart money is moving to the Ducks to win the PAC 1- Championship again in 2012.

They’ll have to do it without LaMichael James, who’s moving on to the NFL, but like most good college football programs the Oregon Ducks have his replacement already on the squad. In this case it’s a pair of running backs. De’Anthony Thomas and Kenjon Barner are well versed in the Ducks system and we should see little dropoff in the running game. Two things that should be better in 2012 are quarterback Darron Thomas and the whole of the Ducks defense, which returns a half dozen starters and was making major strides at the end of 2011.

The Oregon Ducks schedule gives them a big heads up with most of their home games early in the season and few tougher opponents, save USC, on the road. This is an Oregon Ducks team that lost to LSU in a highly hyped season opener last year and came back with a vengeance. No comeback will be necessary in 2012. The Ducks will start fast and finish strong and I fully expect to see them finish in the upper half of the College Football Top 10 in 2012.

In order to win a BCS National Championship you pretty much have to do it with a big group of seniors at the peak of their college football careers. The flip side of that is once you win you have to start all over again. The Alabama Crimson Tide look to do just that in the 2012 college football season, after losing half of their starters on each side of the ball.

But let’s remember that this is Nick Saban running this team and writing off the Crimson Tide at this point would be dangerous. Even after reloading with younger players Alabama will still be good enough to be considered among the Top Ten teams in college football. With A. J. McCarron under center and a schedule that is actually pretty weak for a national champions, Alabama should be in good shape come bowl season. Big games against Michigan and the LSU Tigers on the road are the biggest challenges the Crimson Tide face in 2012. They should come out in fine shape and be in a BCS Bowl in 2013.

The USC Trojans are coming back nicely since sanctions were imposed, and 2012 could be the college football season that sees the Trojans burst back onto the scene big time. USC got a huge boost when quarterback Matt Barkley decided he was going to give it another year. Re-teamed with most of the key elements of the Trojans offense the continuity alone is worth a few wins.

The USC Trojans have a favorable schedule but will have to take on the Stanford Cardinal and the Oregon Ducks on the road. But please remember that the 2012 college football season is when the Trojans get released from purgatory and can participate in the college football bowl party. They’ll probably make it. It’s been way too long since USC was a major force in college football. Those who thought sanctions would impose a death knell on one of the nations most successful football programs should take note. The USC Trojans are coming back, and some experts are calling for a team that could challenge for a BCS National Championship. Looking ahead, I can see the USC Trojans in the Top 5 but there are too many teams coming back with a vengeance to go that far.

Continuing the path of the SEC dominating the market for the top college football tickets, we saw the Alabama Crimson Tide taking the BCS National Championship over the LSU Tigers. It should come to no surprise to college football fans that you’ll be hearing from both the Tigers and the Tide again in 2012. In fact, looking over the world of college football it wouldn’t surprise me to see half of the College Football Top 10 rankings owned by SEC teams. For now let’s take a look at the LSU Tigers and why they figure to be at #1 or #12 in the pre-season polls.

LSU has developed one of the premiere college football programs in the country under Les Miles, who already has a BCS National Championship under his belt. Miles has a veteran team returning, one hardened by experience and motivated by a lost chance in their last game. This team will be looking to prove something in 2012. Altogether you can expect to see more starters returning than leaving. If there’s one place the Tigers have been lacking, it’s at quarterback, with Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee performing capably but not spectacularly in the last two seasons. In 2012 Les Miles has a freshman, Gunner Keil, and a transfer, Zach Mettenberger, competing for the position. Neither has much of a resume so we’ll have to wait for spring to get a lead on which player has the edge.

An experienced team and a favorable schedule put LSU in good position in the SEC. Look for another winning season, and if quarterback play improves theLSU Tigers could find themselves in another BCS National Championship.

BCS Championship Tickets

Sugar Bowl Tickets and BCS Championship tickets are a great way to double dip your way into the new year. Picture yourself in new Orleans, one of the great party cities in the Unites States, and you’re going to bookend about 10 days of fun with tickets to both the Sugar Bowl on Jan 3rd, watching Michigan vs Virginia Tech, then on Jan 9th, you pick up your BCS Championship tickets and head for the Superdome to see one of the great rematches of the college football season as the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide face off to decide the title.

In between games, as if the Sugar Bowl and BCS Championship aren’t enough, you get to spend a week in New Orleans. What to do?

1) Head to Drago’s and get the grilled oysters. Believe me they can’t be beat.

2) Enjoy the night life in the French Quarter. Pat O’s is the place.

3) Cast the dice at Harrah’s Casino.

4) Take a trip across Lake Pontchartrain to Slidell and do the Swamp Tour. On your way back stop at Peck’s Seafood and enjoy the gumbo and a Shrimp PoBoy.

5) New Orleans Hornets Tickets are available for games against the 76ers on Jan 4th, and the Denver Nuggets on the 6th.

Starting to get the picture? This could be the best week of vacation you ever had.

Ohio State Buckeyes tickets have traditionally been tops in college football tickets. The Buckeyes have been successful and prominent, bringing acclaim to the university. I can remember many a bowl game watching the Buckeyes take apart one or another opponent. Those were the highs that came along with Ohio State Buckeyes tickets.

Then came the lows and they’ve been coming one right after another. First and foremost was the disgraceful discovery of players trading their Ohio State memorabilia for tattoos. How stupid can you be? But the real kicker came when it was discovered that Jim Tressell, the man who really made Ohio State Buckeyes tickets into treasures, knew about the whole thing and tried to kick it under the rug. Now, it has been announced that the Ohio State Buckeyes have been banned from any College Bowl Game appearance for one year, limited scholarships, and a probation period. Such is the legacy of Jim Tressell.

But more ups are on the way for Buckeyes ticket holders. The hiring of Urban Meyer is a start in the right direction. It’s hoped that Meyer is now fully healthy and rested after his hiatus and can lead the Ohio State Buckeyes to a BCS National Championship the way he did Florida. After a couple of years operating under restrictions, Meyer has the chance to re-build and esteemed college football program and I believe he will. So don’t lose faith Ohio State fans, your Buckeyes tickets, though operating under a cloud, will soon be in the light again.

2012 Sugar Bowl tickets are out there now, just waiting for you to scoop them up. As difficult as it can be to get your hands on Sugar Bowl tickets on your own, that’s how easy it is when you’re online with CollegeFootballTickets.com. We’ve got the inside track on the Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl, BCS Championship, or any college football tickets you can name. Come along with us for just a minute and let’s see what you’ll be getting with your 2012 Sugar Bowl tickets.

First of all the teams. The 2012 Sugar Bowl features the Michigan Wolverines, who finished second in the Big Ten, and are the 13th ranked college football team in the nation. The Wolverines took a big jump in the polls at the last minute to earn their berth in the Sugar Bowl, topping teams like Michigan State and Houston in their selection. Michigan fans are known to support their team in a big time way and the Sugar Bowl obviously was looking for a big draw in their pick of the Wolverines for the 2012 Sugar Bowl.

On the other side of the field will be the Virginia Tech Hokies, another football powerhouse with big drawing power. The Hokies were the top team in the ACC, finishing with an 11-2 record overall and 7-1 in the conference. Because of their offensive prowess and their ability to draw faithful fans from across the nation, the Hokies were an obvious pick for the Sugar Bowl. When Virginia tech is on the field, the scoreboard operator is always busy.

It all sets up a fine time to be had with 2012 Sugar Bowl tickets. The Michigan Wolverines and Virginia Tech Hokies will meet on Jan 3rd in the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. be there for all the good times in the Crescent City with Sugar Bowl tickets from CollegeFootballTickets.com.
